These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website https://nmr.pet, all associated pages (including /Page/terms), mobile applications (if any), and services provided by National Pet Microchip Registry (“NMR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including pet microchip registration, NDR registration, shot record storage, Emotional Support Animal (ESA) registration, Emergency Contact ID registration, lost & found lookup tools, digital health vaults, and any related features (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
NMR operates a national pet identification and recovery registry. We provide tools for pet owners, veterinarians, shelters, and others to register microchips (9-, 10-, or 15-digit), NDR numbers, shot/vaccination records, ESA information, and emergency contact IDs. Registered information may be shared with partner organizations such as the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to improve nationwide lookup capabilities. Our goal is to help reunite lost pets with their owners faster through secure, searchable records. All registrations are one-time lifetime fees unless otherwise stated.
You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal authority to register pets or act on behalf of the pet owner.
You are responsible for creating and maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date account and pet information.
NMR is not responsible or liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in data you enter (including pet names, owner contact details, microchip numbers, medical records, or any other information).
You agree to double-check all entries before submission. We provide lookup tools (including on partner sites like AAHA.org) to verify registration status, but we do not guarantee that every search will return correct or complete results.
You must notify us promptly of any changes to your contact information or pet status.
Microchip, NDR, Shot Record, ESA, and Emergency Contact ID Registrations are processed as described on our site. Once submitted and paid, your information is stored in our secure database for the lifetime of the registration.
We may share registration data with authorized partners (e.g., AAHA, shelters, veterinarians, or law enforcement) solely for pet recovery and identification purposes.
Lost & Found Services: We offer lookup tools to assist in reuniting pets. However, we do not guarantee that your pet will be found, recovered, or returned. Success depends on many factors outside our control.
ESA registrations link to separate terms at https://nmr.pet/Page/esa_terms (or the linked Emotional Support Animal Society site). Those terms are incorporated by reference.
All fees are one-time lifetime payments (e.g., Basic Registry $39, Health Vault $50, Total Protection Kit $115, etc., as listed on the Pricing page). Prices are subject to change.
We use secure third-party payment processors. You authorize us to charge the payment method you provide.
No recurring fees unless you explicitly purchase an additional service.
Refunds: Registrations are non-refundable once submitted and processed, except where required by law. Contact us within 7 days of purchase for any issues.
All content, logos, trademarks, designs, software, and materials on the Service are owned by or licensed to NMR and protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our prior written consent. Limited permission is granted to view and use the Service for personal, non-commercial pet-registration purposes only.
Any information, documents, photos, or records you upload or submit (“User Content”) remains your property. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, display, transmit, and use it solely to provide the Service and for pet-recovery purposes. You represent that your User Content is accurate and does not violate any laws or third-party rights.
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy (available on the site) for details on how we collect, use, protect, and share your information. We comply with applicable data protection laws for pet-owner information.

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” NMR makes no warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted service. We do not guarantee that every lost pet will be recovered or that every microchip lookup will be successful.
Pet recovery and identification involve many variables outside our control. NMR is not a veterinarian or animal control service and does not provide medical, legal, or professional advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NMR, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of pets, emotional distress, or lost profits) arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months (or $100 if no payment was made).
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NMR and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. Sections that by their nature survive termination (liability, indemnification, IP, etc.) will continue to apply.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to class actions or jury trials to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Effective Date.” Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
Entire Agreement: These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and any separate registration agreements) constitute the full agreement between you and NMR.
